2010 Earth Day Events
Earth Day is over for 2010. The celebrations are completed. Over one billion people in 190 countries celebrated with festivals and events. Placer Nature Center participated in several events held throughout Placer Country...and plan to do the same in 2011. Make sure you check back next year to see where we'll be!
Other Events we will be at:
19th 18th Annual American River Confluence Festival ~ June 13, 2010
9am-4pm at the American River Canyon Overlook Park on Pacific Avenue behind the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn.
Each year, Protect American River Canyons (PARC) collaborates with the community to create a unique shaded river village filled with music, entertainment, art, recreation and environmental education activities, information booths and good food.
There will be activities for all ages to discover the American River Watershed - an area rich in natural, cultural and recreational opportunities. The festival themes focus on the protection of the delicate river ecology and to encourage responsible use of our American River through education and appreciation. PARC is working to achieve federal protection for the canyons of the American River. Download the American River Confluence flyer to learn more.
