Eat the View Farm to Table Dinner
Sponsored by PlacerGROWN and Placer Land Trust, the new Eat the View Farm to Table Dinner series is inspired by a poster created several years ago by Joanne Neft, featuring this message: If you love to love to look at farmland... you've got to Eat the View or lose it! We invite you to an intimate al fresco dinner on a knoll at the heart of Natural Trading Company's 40-acre farm in Newcastle. You'll gaze on orchards, row crops, greenhouses and the beautiful rolling foothills as you enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared by Chef David Hill, a true advocate of local, seasonal delicacies.
The event occurs on September 25 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the Natural Trading Company, 5841 Fruitvale Rd, Newcastle, CA
Your Farm to Table evening includes:

- From June to September, you can find a Placer County Master Gardener table at the 1st and 3rd Saturday Auburn Farmers Market in the Courthouse parking lot. Come by and get free gardening information, and answers for you gardening questions or problems.
- Sat., September 11, 2010, 10am - 2pm Free! - Thrive Family Arts Festival Grow with the arts! At Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center, 1600 Eureka Road, in the courtyard.
Arts and crafts, Music, Dancing, Healthy treats, and Health information! Kaiser Permanente is partnering with Roseville Arts to help your family grow with the arts and thrive. Kaiser physicians will put down their stethoscopes and pick up paintbrushes as they join families and local artists for a day of fun and creativity. Kids will have a messy and marvelous time. - Sep 19th -Run for Autism:The Miner’s Ravine Fun Run is a 5k/10k race that will take place on a paved biking trail in Roseville. The beneficiary of the event is the U.C. Davis MIND Institute so proceeds of the event will help fund autism research.
There is a ¾ mile Kids Run that goes around the Auto Mall, followed by a 5k and 10k run (or walk!) on the bike trail. There is also free daycare for the kids while the adults run (but you have to promise to come back and pick them up!).

A Morning of FREE Activities for Children Including: Emergency Vehicle Tours, Personal Safety, Nutrition & Health Information, Fun Activities-Face Painting/Arts and Crafts, Community Resource Booths and Free Train Rides on the "Choo-Choo Express." - Saturday, September 25 from 8 AM to 1 PM: The Great Sierra River Cleanup Join us at the Confluence - focused on removing trash and restoring the health of the America River in the Auburn State Recreation Area. This cleanup is an annual event coordinated in part by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and held in conjunction with California Coastal Cleanup Day to clean rivers and streams throughout the Sierra Nevada Region. - Saturday and Sunday, Sept 25 & 26: Colfax Railroad Days will be rolling into the junction and we invite you all to come and celebrate our 100th Birthday of the City of Colfax with the many events we have planned. - Sunday, September 26 from 11 AM to 3 PM: Join us at Upper Lake Clementine for our Paddle Safety Day activities. Try out a variety of boats suitable for river, lake and sea paddling. This years event will also feature Junior Ranger theme nature activities for those interested in learning more about American River Ecology and becoming good stewards of the American River.
