"Adults can only give good advice or put you on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in your own hands."

Simple Things You Can Do Today!

Kids have the power to change how we affect the environment too!

Go zero waste!

What‘s better than recycling? It’s not creating any waste at all.

It’s actually pretty easy to eliminate waste that otherwise would end up in landfills (or worse – our water ways). So, find out the easy things that you can do to to create a " zero waste."

One of the things you'll learn about is a " zero waste lunch." What does that mean? Simply put, it’s a lunch that generates no (or very little) trash. In a zero waste lunch everything can be eaten, reused, or recycled. Now, that's being sustainable and preserving our environment!

Get Outdoors!

Ger Outdoors USA! Get Outdoors USA! is a coalition of concerned organizations that have come together to change the way our children think about the Great Outdoors and help them engage in healthy, active outdoor lives.

Children today are surrounded by technology and entertainment systems that draw them into a life of instant, passive gratification. The solution is obvious: we need to change the way our children think about the Great Outdoors and engage them in outdoor activities that benefit their mind, body and spirit.

the Lost Ladybug Project

Lady Bug artJoin the Lost Ladybug Project. Across North America ladybug species distribution is changing. Over the past twenty years several native ladybugs that were once very common have become extremely rare. During this same time ladybugs from other places have greatly increased both their numbers and range. Some ladybugs are simply found in new places. This is happening very quickly and we don’t know how, or why, or what impact it will have on ladybug diversity or the role that ladybugs play in keeping plant-feeding insect populations low. See how kids all across America are helping scientists by photographing and tracking ladybugs. You can too!
