IGES 2010 Earth Day Photo & Essay Contest- The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) is inviting students in grades 5 through 8 to snap a photograph of something changing in their local environment between April 19 and April 30. A 400 word maximum essay should accompany the photo explaining the change that is happening. The first place winner will receive a digital camera, the second place winner a digital photo frame and the third place winner a digital photo key chain. Top 10 winners will receive their photograph in a special frame commemorating Earth Day 2010 and will be featured on the IGES Web site. Learn more.

Canon EnvirothonThe Canon Envirothon– North America’s largest high school environmental competition – is an annual youth environmental competition taking place over five days during the summer.  Teams must demonstrate their knowledge of environmental science and natural resource management at five training/testing stations. Volvo AdventureVolvo Adventure, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program, recognizes and rewards students’ environmental activities. Finalists receive a trip to Sweden for the final judging and awards ceremony. Three prizes are awarded, including a grand prize of $10,000. To enter the competition students, must form a team of two to five members between 13 and 16 years of age plus one adult team leader. Teams plan and perform an environmental project and submit the finished project for judging. Find out more.

Bob the BunnyVolvo Adventure Bob the Bunny's Cartoon CompetitionToo young to enter the Volvo Adventure ? Bob the Bunny's competition is aimed at younger adventurers aged between 10 to 12 years old (at the competition opening - July 1st 2009) To enter, you form a team of 1 to 3 members, identify a local environmental issue and create an A4 cartoon strip illustrating the issue and actions that you might take to solve it. This years winning team will be sent to the 2011 Volvo Adventure final.
