Teen Jr. Naturalist for Summer Camp
Placer Nature Center is looking for teens to help facilitate their Footsteps to Summer Fun nature day camp program. Teens that would like to earn community service hours, gain experience working with children, enrich leadership skills, and have fun while learning at the same time should consider helping out at Placer Nature Center this summer.
Teen camp counselors guide the camp participants through nature investigations, nature games and crafts and lead nature songs and puppet shows for the children. Fun is had by all while learning about our natural environment. Each Footsteps to Summer Fun nature day camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Teens can choose one or several weeks to help out. Teen helpers must be 13 years or older to participate. Prior to being a Teen Counselor, a 2-day training is required. Information on the training will be announced during the summer. At this workshop teens will become familiar with the camp activities, the nature trail and their roles as camp counselors.

Trail Building & Maintenance
Thousands of children walk our trails every year, so keeping them in top condition is a priority.
Placer Nature Center has two trails that need monitoring. One is a quarter-mile handicap accessible trail; the other is a mile long trail that weaves through our natural area.
