If you are organized, enjoy working with people and can dedicate 3-5 hours each week , the Volunteer Coordinator position would be perfect to get experience and prove your expertise in management, coordination and business communications.
This is a volunteer position (with possibility of future employment when funds allow).

What this opportunity entails: We are looking to expand our volunteer program to be able to offer more regularly scheduled volunteer opportunities to the community. This would include a new program for Greeters who help keep the center open for the visiting public.
Areas of expansion are:
- Garden Maintenance
- Trail Maintenance
- Special Events & Preparation
- Special Projects
- Outreach Booth Representatives
- Facility Maintenance
- Youth Group Projects (includes Scouts, High School Senior Project, etc.)
You would be the point of contact for volunteers:
- answering emails
- returning phone calls
- coordinating volunteers for projects
- coordinating project leaders
Place of work:
- you can work both at Placer Nature Center to use our computers, phones, or
- work from home, checking in by phone/email (necessary to have phone, computer and internet)
Key skills/personal qualities for success:
- Communication Skills: feel comfortable calling and talking with people. Clearly communicate important information.
- Sensitivity: awareness and sensitivity to people of all cultures, abilities, orientations, ages and genders.
- Leadership: be a self-starter, maintain a schedule, no procrastination, good time management, strong work ethic.
- Patience
